Noise Exclusive: Hear House & Home Shine A Light On DIY Band Struggles With “Shrunken Head”

Being a DIY touring act isn’t exactly easy – especially in the midst of a global pandemic. Creating a name for yourself in the always crowded music scene is no simple task and can certainly impact your self-esteem.

Giving listeners an honest and open look into the struggles of breaking out and having a successful music career, emerging alt-emo outfit House & Home have put together an eye-opening track titled “Shrunken Head.”

“‘Shrunken Head’ is a song about the fatigue and self-doubt associated with being in a DIY touring band,” explains the Richmond-based trio. “We love what we do but working as hard as we do to make a name for ourselves takes a toll and this song is our attempt to tackle that.”

To check out the band’s brooding Balance And Composure-like track taken from their soon-to-be-released album Find Sense. Feel Love. Make Light. (out 4/17 on Open Your Ears Records), be sure to look below. Afterward, for more from the band, head here
