With nothing but time on their hands, thanks to zero touring, 2020 has seen its fair share of quarantine covers from countless bands. However none of them, we can promise you, have been like what we’re about to show you from emerging hard rock outfit AVOID.

Taken from their new The Songs That Shaped Us release, the young Pacific Northwest act is teaming up with The Noise to show off their rippin’ rendition of an Audioslave classic.

“We are thrilled to share our cover of Audioslave’s ‘Show Me How To Live’ with you,” says singer Benny Scholl. “Any big Audioslave fan will also notice a tip of the cap we gave to another song of theirs in the middle.”

“With the way that 2020 has gone,” Scholl continues, “it’s safe to say most of us are just holding on tight and trying to get through to the end. As a band member, and personally as a promoter/booking agent, these have been the most unprecedented times to navigate. We’re very grateful that as a band we’ve been able to find any sort of success throughout it all.”

Hoping to give back to the scene that helped shape he and his bandmates, the kindhearted frontman also notes: “The biggest thing that I want to stress is that if you care about independent music, live music, DIY scenes and music in general, please please please look into Save Our Stages and let your representatives know we need help in our music communities. For one that really hits home to me and the band, there is also Keep Music Live Washington. Wonderful people around the local music community here and the ‘Washington Nightlife Music Association’ have launched this.”

Lastly, Scholl adds, “Thank you again for checking out our cover, we hope we can make you smile in one way or another this year AND OUR NEW EP THE BURNER OUT NOV 6, BABY!!!”
