Trying to date during a global pandemic isn’t exactly ideal. With everyone practicing social distancing and self quarantining, first dates aren’t really what they used to be.

That said, regardless of if you’re Facetiming or flirting on Snapchat, there’s still plenty of room for heartbreak in these unprecedented times – just ask emerging rock act PHNTMS.

Debuting their infectious new single “Back Burner” exclusively on The Noise, vocalist Alyssa Gambino explains the song’s inspiration saying, “‘Back Burner’ is about two people dealing with bad timing. Not being ready to take the next step into a relationship even though there is an attraction. The line ‘catch a ‘48’ refers to the hours in a weekend before getting back to the everyday routines.”

She adds, “Giving too much of myself was something I was never good at. I’ve always kept a safe distance when having feelings for someone new and the ‘flame’ represents just that. For me, being placed on the back burner is a lingering reminder that I will be here waiting.”
