If you’re new to the party – literally – let us fill you in on a thing called Riot Night. Out in the sweaty-yet-stylish streets of Scottsdale, AZ, every other month or so a group of outcasts gather like a team of nostalgia nerds to relive one of the greatest musical eras ever, the mid-2000′s emo scene (you can fight us if you don’t agree).

Similar to the likes of Emo Nite, Riot Night typically boasts a lineup of classic and current acts that all fall into the world of Warped Tour. This past Saturday at the Rock Bar was no different as this month’s festivity featured Kevin Jordan of This Wild Life as well as Nate Barcalow and Randy Strohmeyer of Finch.

Both performing acoustic in between sets from Arizona’s best emo cover band Hands Down, the members of This Wild Life and Finch put on a fantastic show playing fan-favorites and, to the delight of many, a few cover tracks as well (Jordan stunned everybody with a beautiful rendition of Death Cab For Cutie’s “Follow You Into The Dark” on a UKU-FREAKING-LELE as well as Senses Fail’s “Buried A Lie” (see here) while Barcalow and Strohmeyer did a killer acoustic rendition of “Say It Ain’t So” by Weezer (see here)).

To take a look at the epic evening that was Riot Night, be sure to check out some photos of all the performers crushing it on stage below. Afterward, for more from Riot Night, head here.
