ICYMI: Here Are 8 Newsworthy Items You May Have Missed Over The Holidays

Hello everybody and happy new year! While getting back into the swing of things here at the office, we noticed a handful of exciting things have been announced while we were off celebrating the holidays.

So, instead of pumping out article after article for you to comb through and catch up on, we thought we’d compile all the things you may have missed into one, easy-to-read post.

Let us begin:

ICE NINE KILLS DEBUT GORY VIDEO GAME-LIKE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “MERRY AXE-MAS”

To help show off their more festive side and celebrate the holidays the right way, metalcore outfit Ice Nine Kills debuted a brutal video game-styled music video for their hard-hitting The Silver Scream single “Merry Axe-Mas.”

Speaking about the inspiration for the song and video, frontman Spencer Charnas said:

Silent Night, Deadly Night is one of my all time favorite slasher flicks. In our song and video for ‘Merry Axe-Mas’ I wanted to pay tribute to the film’s brilliant combination of sleaze, holiday cheer, absurdity and vicious gore. Released in 1984 at the height of the ’80s slasher craze, the film’s axe-wielding Santa marketing campaign threw uptight parents and the PC police into an unholy rage. Angered families staged protests in front of theaters and PTA groups across the country petitioned for the film’s banishment. Tri Star Pictures subsequently caved and Silent Night, Deadly Night was pulled from theaters after only one week. However, all the negative publicity only fueled the forbidden fruit factor and the infamous film quickly gained cult status. This story just goes to show you that if you try and suppress something, it’s only more likely to rear its (decapitated) head.”

SENSES FAIL SHOW THEIR LOVE FOR DEMI LOVATO IN NEW “ELEVATOR TO THE GALLOWS” VIDEO

To help kick off their highly talked about Misery Will Find You Tour with The Amity Affliction, Silent Planet, and Belmont, Senses Fail dropped a brand new music video for “Elevator To The Gallows” which follows their pursuit of winning Demi Lovato’s love – no really, that’s what the video is about.

“We are all big fans of Demi,” the band says. “We’ve tried to [at] her on Twitter but to no avail! So we took the logical next step and made a video devoted to winning her attention. Having personally struggled with addiction, I know all too well what Demi has been through. We want her to know Senses Fail loves her and wishes her the very best! Your best friends who you don’t know yet, Senses Fail.”
