Anti-Flag Release Powerful New Single “The Criminals”

With a little less than a month to go until they drop their tenth full-length album (yes, tenth!) American Fall, political punks Anti-Flag have just released their new single “The Criminals.’

“The Criminals’ is inspired by Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs, Lead Belly and countless others. Those who used their vocation and all at their disposal to fight for social, economic and racial justice,” explained the band on their Facebook page. “When a society prioritizes the pursuit of wealth over all else and its leaders celebrate violence, authoritarianism and nationalism, that society ends up on a corrupted moral path. This path leads to events like neo-nazi rallies in Charlottesville and tragedies like the shooting in Las Vegas.”

The band continued to add, “It is insanity to do the same things over and over again expecting different results. Wall Street, the fossil fuel industry, big pharma, the NRA and the weapons lobby pull the strings of the politicians in Washington, leaving us with a government and society where profit comes first and people come second. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Apathy and cynicism are our greatest enemies. Don’t give up. Get involved and get organized.”
