Today, longtime Gainesville punk outfit Against Me! brought their track “Haunting, Haunted, Haunts” to life with a black and white animated visual. The video morphs from minimalistic imagery of skulls, bottles, waves and cigarettes (you know, usual Against Me! stuff) into kaleidoscopic scenes with rapid bursts of white light ending in a void. As the visual begins in a drunken haze and adequately captures the hungover feeling of love lost, it runs hand in hand with Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace’s lyrics on loneliness.
Last year, Grace released the autobiographical memoir Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout which explores her experience with gender dysphoria, coming out as a transgender woman and the band’s history.
Against Me! is currently supporting Green Day on their North American tour and is playing a slew of their own headlining shows across the United States.
