It should come as no surprise entering what feels like week 38 of quarantine but if you haven’t already learned, it’s probably best to look at the bright side of things.

What’s the bright side of being stuck at home with nowhere to go, you ask? Well, for one, you don’t have to wear pants – which is pretty cool with us. You can also start that novel you’ve been putting off for years.

In all seriousness though, we realize it’s easier said than done to see all the good going on in the world instead of just the bad. However, today might be a great day to start thanks to LA act Arrested Youth.

Choosing to spend their time stuck at home promoting positivity in a time of so much darkness, the alt-rock group is teaming up with The Noise to share their uplifting video for their latest single “Brightside.”

Talking about the lively new Twenty One Pilots-like track, frontman Ian Johnson says, “‘Brightside’ is about keeping a positive mental outlook, even when the easier choice is to dwell in your negative thoughts. The song serves as a reminder to myself and others to keep it on the bright side, despite the many obstacles of life.”

As for the video, Johnson adds, “Death and illness are subjects we’re all grappling with these days. It brings up tricky questions like, ‘when we pass, where do we go?”’I wanted to create a video for ‘Brightside’ that provided a hopeful undertone for these questions. We shot it at a nearby church in my neighborhood. It has a calm, angelic feel to it which I love. I hope it provides you with some comfort and faith in these uncertain times.”
