If You Don’t Know, Now You Know: Stray From The Path

After a hard day’s work bustin’ your ass for the man who could give two shits about you and your struggles, there’s nothing better than blasting some pissed off tunes to bang your head to. For us, our music of choice has always been Stray From the Path. Of course, things have settled a tad as we are completely happy and content with the gigs we have now. But let us tell you, things weren’t always this peachy and nothing fixed a shitty day quicker than blaring “Damien” as loud as we could.

Now, we’re not so sure what it is that pissed Stray From the Path off so much to where they’ve made it their absolute mission to personally fuck your eardrums up, but we can definitely back it. Combining a multitude of influences from bands like Rage Against the Machine, Glassjaw, Deftones and Refused, these Long Island hardcore punks have found a way to create the perfect riot music. With forceful and aggressive lyrics spewing rapidly out of the mouth of their young vocalist Drew York mixed with blaring guitar riffs, steady bass lines and deafening drum beats, this four-piece seems to never let up. Don’t believe us? Go ahead and take a trip through their five-album discography and try to find one song of theirs that doesn’t scream utter chaos. Yeah, that’s what we thought.

If you feel like witnessing this aggression and hostility live – which you do — Stray From the Path is currently on tour until what looks like the end of 2014. Sharing the stage with acts like Counterparts, Expire, Emmure and Fit For a King, you’re not going to want to miss out.
