After reading the title of this article there’s a very good chance you might have thought this had the making of a Metal Goes Pop compilation record. We’re here to tell that’s not the case.

Instead, for reasons unbeknownst to us, two of metal’s biggest names have decided to cover three of pop’s biggest songs.

First, let’s begin with Welsh megastars Bullet For My Valentine. Serving as a bonus track on select editions of their recently released sixth LP Gravity, Matt Tuck and company took a stab at covering, get this, Imagine Dragon’s 2012 hit “Radioactive.” While we’re not exactly sure where the inspiration came from, you can check out the guitar-driven rendition below.

Now as for Trivium vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy, he too took a turn covering some pop songs for his Twitch live stream segment known as “Kiichi Karaoke.” To see Heafy cover Toto’s “Africa” (which yes Weezer has also covered) as well as Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” see below.
