Gearing up for the start of their fall tour alongside Hollywood Undead and I Prevail, Crown The Empire has just announced plans to release a deluxe version of their 2014 sophomore album, The Resistance: Rise Of The Runaways.

Set to hit stores October 30 via Rise Records, the re-release will include two new songs, a reinvented version of “Machines” and an acoustic rendition of “Millennia.”

When asked about the reissue, clean vocalist Andy Leo explained that this new release is about what’s next for Crown The Empire.

“For us, the new songs on the deluxe edition of The Resistance are about closure. So much has changed over the last few years, and up until this point, I think we’ve been searching for who we were as artists. ‘Cross Our Bones,’ 'Prisoners of War’ and 'Machines (reinvented)’ are just the surface level of what we feel we’ve uncovered creatively as songwriters and as individuals. As we bring The Resistance to an end, we hope these songs excite you for what is to come.”

In anticipation of the upcoming album, the Dallas metalcore act has premiered a music video for one of their two new singles titled “Prisoners Of War.” In regards to the new track, co-vocalist David Escamilla stated that it’s the “most honest we’ve ever been lyrically.”

Escamilla continued to add, “We felt completely open and able to talk about how we felt as a band, and for one last time, we were able to bring those real emotions into the world of The Resistance. Every journey must come to an end, and with this one drawing to an end, we wanted to thank all of you for being a part of it, and invite you along as we head towards a new horizon for Crown The Empire.”

If you’re curios about how the new song relates to The Resistance storyline, the band explained on their Facebook page that “[It’s the] same characters (Bones and The Raven), we just portrayed it in a more artistic way then telling an exact storyline. Inside each of us, there is the seed of both good and evil. It’s a constant struggle as to which one will win. And one cannot exist without the other.”
