If you’re in the mood for discovering your new favorite female-fronted up-and-coming band, you’ve come to the right place. Out of New York, NY, Mistakes is a three-piece outfit taking listeners back to the early, guitar-heavy days of bands like VersaEmerge and Courage My Love.

No strangers to The Noise, you may remember Mistakes after we premiered their stunning acoustic rendition of “Pull Me Under.” Or, if you’re big into YouTube covers, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve caught vocalist/guitarist Lauren Hudson and her videos performing haunting versions of Halsey and Gwen Stefani. Either way, the band is back today to premiere their brand new single “Shadows.”

“’Shadows’ is the first song I wrote for this project before we were even a fully formed band,” explains Hudson. “The song was written at a time I didn’t really like myself and was struggling to deal with internal conflicts going on inside me. The song and video grapple with the quintessential battle between light versus dark. We ultimately must choose who will win and it is a choice we must make for ourselves. No one can save us, only YOU can save YOU.”

Touching on what took the band so long to share their infectious new single, Hudson says, “It has been a long time coming to release it but we wanted to make sure all of the pieces of the puzzle fit together as far as the visual imagery and messages that we are beginning to portray. This is the start of a whole new chapter for us and if you pay close attention to the themes in this video, they may being coming back. We are currently in the process of traveling back and forth to Virginia and are hard at work putting together new material. You can expect to see a lot more of us beginning this summer.”
