Plain White T’s Re-Sign To Fearless Records, Share First New Song + Music Video In Two Years

After almost two years away from the music scene, the Plain White T’s (known for their four-time platinum single “Hey There Delilah”) have finally made their comeback – and it was worth the wait. “Land Of The Living,” is the first single to be taken from the bands’ eighth studio album, which is slated for release in early 2018.

To celebrate the single, the Chicago outfit also debuted the track’s music video. Shot in November of last year, the video follows a group of elderly residents in a nursing home who use virtual reality to experience the lives they wish they had. One of the residents, an army veteran, uses the technology to live his lifelong dream of becoming a drag queen. He escapes from the nursing home and lives out his drag fantasy – this time in real life.

“’Land Of The Living’ is a song that can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For us, it’s about following your passion no matter what, and enjoying the ups and downs along the way,” said vocalist and guitarist Tom Higgenson.

In addition to being Plain White T’s’ return to music, “Land Of The Living” also marks the Plain White T’s return to their initial record label, Fearless Records.

“Fearless was the first label to support us and believe in the band, so it just seems so natural to reunite with them after all these years,“ said Higgenson. Although the band’s new sound is a departure from their original laid-back acoustic sound, we can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us!

Plain White T’s are currently on a 2-week tour in California in association with High School Nation, playing schools across the state to encourage the opening of music programs. Check back soon for Plain White T’s upcoming album and watch the video for “Land Of The Living” below.
