Well, maybe 2019 won’t be so bad after all? After nearly 10 years, beloved post-hardcore outfit Alexisonfire has just dropped a brand new song.

That’s right! George Pettit, Dallas Green, Wade MacNeil, Chris Steele and Jordan Hastings are back at it again releasing their new vibed-out track  “Familiar Drugs” taken from their upcoming 7″

Touching on the new track, their first since 2010′s Dog’s Blood, Pettit said, “‘Familiar Drugs‘ is about recognizing you need to make a change in your life, being presented with the opportunity to make that change, and then choosing to do the same thing you always do. It’s about something very specific to me but it can be taken literally or interpreted in any number of ways. Most people have something in their lives they can’t quit, substances, unhealthy relationships, lethargy, self-righteousness, a job they hate. ‘Familiar Drugs‘ is about choosing comfort over self-betterment.”

In addition to the new song, as if you needed any more excitement from the seasoned Canadian act, the band has also announced a handful of headlining shows. To check out dates plus “Familiar Drugs,” be sure to see below. To pre-order the band’s 7″ release, head here.
