Keep An Eye Out For Rozwell Kid’s New “Magic Eye” Video, We Hear It’s Pretty Cornea

Known for putting out some pretty eccentric music videos like their headless clip for “Kangaroo Pocket” and their mime-friendly shoot for “Sick Jackets,” West Virginia’s kooky four-piece Rozwell Kid may have just outdone themselves with their latest video for “Magic Eye.”

Directed by Sam Gursky, the short but sweet two-minute video follows a couple of eyeballs around as they blindly search for their glasses. For those curious about the eyedea (Ha! Get it? Eye-dea?) behind the video, vocalist/guitarist Jordan Hudkins says it came from a couple different places.

“Sam Gursky and I brainstormed over the phone resulting in the basic storyline for the video,” explains Hudkins. “I was worried the giant eyeballs would be too literal for the song title, but I couldn’t shake the image out of my head. Once we crafted a purpose for the characters, and the narrative became more about a quest than just someone in an eyeball mask walking around, I was very excited about the idea. Sam and I shared references such as The Shining and Green Day’s “Basket Case” video trying to marry the two aesthetics into something different. Sam crushed it!”
