If You Don't Know, Now You Know: Balance and Composure

When it comes to this week’s featured artist, many audibly stimulating depictions come to mind. Thoughts of calming atmospheric poetry, vibey guitar riffs and wavy yet powerful choruses are generally what we dream up when we hear the name Balance and Composure. However, as those terms may illustrate this Doylestown, PA act well enough, that’s not even scratching the surface.

As we drifted along through last year’s emphatic full-length, The Things We Think We’re Missing, we realized that Balance and Composure is not your average run-of-the-mill melodic act. Demonstrating the weightless and rather-translucent rock sound they’ve been perfecting since 2009 with tracks like “Parachutes,” “Back of Your Head” and “Reflections,” The Things We Think We’re Missing proves time and time again that Balance and Composure is as solid as any other band around.

Signed to the same label where maturing scenesters La Dispute, Into It. Over It. and The Wonder Years once roamed, Balance and Composure is now continuing where the bands before them left off. With 2014 now past the halfway point, it’s safe to assume Balance and Composure should be hitting the studio soon to create another luminous full-length. Fingers crossed.
