Love them or hate them (which we’re not sure the latter is even possible) there’s no denying Dashboard Confessional has had some sort of impact on your life. Seriously, think about it: Whether it’s the first time you had your heart broken and you played “Screaming Infidelities” on a loop, the time you discovered your singing voice and “emo side” with the beloved “Hands Down,” or hell, maybe it was the time you realized the power of the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack and “Vindicated” became your emotional anthem. Pretty much, Chris Carrabba and his soft-sounding coffeehouse-flavored gems have almost always been there for you in your time of need.

Demonstrating just how much he and his songs have impacted people’s lives, Carrabba and company are currently out on an intimate tour of smaller-than-usual venues playing heartfelt tracks as up close and personal as possible. Catching the band across a string of Texas dates, our trusted photographer Joe Ortega (yes, the same Joe Ortega who gave us gorgeous looks at Pierce The Veil, Neck Deep and I Prevail as well as Beartooth, Every Time I Die, Fit For A King and Old Wounds) witnessed a handful of these events firsthand and allowed us to share some personal moments from the band’s headlining tour.
