Hear Frameworks’ New Banger Of A Track Off Their Forthcoming Album ‘Smother’

Remember back in February when Frameworks announced they were signing to Deathwish Inc and we, like most people, freaked out with excitement? Okay, maybe not freaked out per se, but we were still pretty excited to see what owner Jacob Bannon could get out of the Gainesville four piece.

Well, here we are three months later and we’ve finally gotten a glimpse into what the post-hardcore punks have been up to via their smashing new single “Tangled.”

Taken off their new album Smother, which will hit stores July 8th, “Tangled” is an epic three-minute and 14-second ball of energy grooving in-between various heavy and soft motifs. To put it briefly, the new song rips.

In regards to the subject matter for the lead single, we’ll leave that one up to frontman Luke Pate:

“’Tangled’ was written about overthinking and how it sometimes, especially with music, can impassion the outcome. The song started off as a thought experiment inspired by a line from one of Seneca’s books. ‘There is no person so severely punished, as those who subject themselves to the whip of their own remorse.’

Pate continued to add, “With most of Frameworks’ previous material, none of it felt entirely complete. Songs would linger around the 99% completion range with the penace that something could have been tracked or phrased better if there was more time. I wrote ‘Tangled’ the night before recording ended for Smother. Forcing no opportunity to over-analyze in the most excruciating way possible. I found the process felt whole and the song itself get beaten into submission.”
