Hear Against Me!’s “People Who Died” Cover For Upcoming Mental Health Comp

Following where Neck Deep left off with their rousing cover of Natalie Imbruglia’s 90′s classic “Torn” for the mental health compilation Songs That Saved My Life – which benefits various charities like Crisis Text Line, Hope For The Day, The Trevor Project, and To Write Love On Her Arms – punk rock mainstays Against Me! have just released their rendition of The Jim Carroll Band’s “People Who Died.”

“Choosing to cover a song that is filled with death to be featured on a compilation dedicated to the thought that music can save your life seemed completely fitting to me,” explained vocalist/guitarist Laura Jane Grace. “I’ve always thought music was about taking all the sadness, pain, fear and trouble that you have weighing on you and turning it into something empowering, celebratory and life-affirming.”

To check out the band’s version of “People Who Died,” be sure to look below. Afterward, make sure to pre-order Songs That Saved My Life – which features additional covers from Dance Gavin Dance, Taking Back Sunday and more – before it hits stores November 9th.
