Progressing along nicely towards the release of their forthcoming album Revolution Radio – which will hit stores October 7 – pop-punk icons Green Day have just shared their third new single titled “Still Breathing.”
While the first two previously released tracks “Bang Bang” and “Revolution Radio” hit with more of a punk attitude, the latest from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame outfit dives deeper into an emotional poppier approach similar to American Idiot’s “Jesus Of Suburbia.”
“[’Still Breathing’] was a very heavy song,” explains vocalist Billy Joe Armstrong in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “Sometimes I run away from being too heavy. But sometimes it just comes out that way. At some point, we’re all going to have to be on life support. As time goes on, your thoughts get darker.”
